Since a couple of days ago, all of my projects have suddenly been unable to produce any playback unless the ASIO host exclusive control box is ticked. This did not used to be the case, as I’ve always had it unchecked so that I can go back and forth with reference music while transcribing.
Unfortunately, now when I need to hear my playback, I have to sacrifice audio from all my other applications. I’ve also tried running it through other drivers like ASIO4ALL, but have ran into the same issue.
What might be the problem and how can I reverse this?
I will attach a sample project without playback on my end. RN Quartet - Landscape.dorico (1.3 MB)
How about the relatively new “Steinberg Built-in ASIO driver”? Did you try that one as well? It’s the successor of the Generic Low Latency Driver and that one does not require any more that exclusive option.
Using the Steinberg Built-in ASIO driver, what are the output ports then set to? (the field below the driver selection). And if you click on the Device Control Panel button, a new little window appears. Can you change there the output ports, are there actually any ports selectable?
