No sound elsewhere when running Cubase 6.5

Hello, all!

I am having a problem I had never experienced before. I have Windows 7. Whenever I have Cubase 6.5 open, my “sound card encounters a problem” when I try to play something that isn’t in Cubase. The audio in Cubase works, but not outside of it. For example, if I had Cubase running, and I wanted to go to a YouTube video to reference something in a recording, the video on YouTube will not play at all because apparently Cubase 6.5 has completely occupied my sound card. I have a Line 6 UX2 by the way.

This has never happened to me before, and I have always been able to play things not on Cubase even when Cubase was open. Could this maybe have something to do with some settings in Cubase I don’t know about? Is this a sound card problem? My interface never had trouble with this before. This only happened following my most recent reformat of my hard drive.

Anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks! :sunglasses:

Bump!

I apologize, just this requires urgent attention.
