Not sure if anyone else is struggling, but I found a fix for me.
It was the inputs (weirdly) of VB Audio Cable that muted the outputs somehow. I believe it was something to do with sample rates no aligning. I checked the box that said automatically change sample rate in the control panel of A4A, then clicking on the inputs of VB… and I had it working!
