No Sound from Steimberg CI2+ USB Audio

Hi,
I have purchased a CI2+ development kit and installed Cubase AI6 on a Acer Aspire V3 471-6859 with Windows 8. It uses the Realtek HD Sound card.

I have assigned the VST to the Stemberg CI2 USB Audio Controller.

What happens is this:

  1. If I listen to a mp3 on the computer when the Stemberg is the principal driver set I can see in control panel that the green lines moves meaning that it is receiving input BUT no sound comes out.

  2. If I play back a track in Cubase AI6 with the ports assigned I cannot see the green lines moving and again no sound comes out.

What is wrong?
