I bought the Steinberg UR 22 mk II USB audio interface with Cubase LE AI Elelents, but I get no sound from the program. The interface is connected with my laptop and my piano. I can hear my piano through my headphones, but I get no sound from Cubase. When I want tot start a production ( for example a classic rock production ), I get this message on my screen from HALion Sonic SE: Some audio files are missing. Please check installation. Then I press OK. Then I’m in Cubase. There is already a drum track with drums, but when I play it, I can’t hear anything. My laptop’s sound works perfectly, but for some reason, It won’t work with Cubase.
Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong or what I need to do?
Hi,
Make sure you installed the content from the 2nd disc.
Also make sure Yamaha Steinberg ASIO driver is selected in Cubase, and you headphones are connected to the UR22 headphones output.
Hi,
Thanks you very much for your reply.
I installed Cubase from the Steinberg website so it didn’t come with a disc. The UR22 mkII came with a disc and I installed that one.( tools for UR22 mkII ). Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO is selected as driver and my headphones are connected to the headphones output of my interface, but I still can’t hear any sound from Cubase.
Have you set up the UR22 as the main stereo output bus in the VST Connections menu?
Regards
Here is what I have in the VST connections menu:
Bus name: Stereo out
Speakers: stereo
Audio device: Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO
device port: UR22 mkII 1/L UR22 mkII 1/R
Hi,
If your sound library is missing, you cannot hear the sound of the Virtual instrument (HALion Sonic SE).
Try to install Cubase from the full installer once again and install the whole content, sounds library.
Thank you very much!
The sound library was indeed missing.
I dowloaded it and now it works perfectly!
