No sound in cubase when playing youtube video

Hi,
Just downloaded and installed the cubase elements trial.

I have audio in cubase but if I try to play a yotuube video at the same time then the audio in cubase cuts out.
When I return to cubase then youtube cuts out.

I have release driver when application is in background switched on.

Hi and welcome,

Studio > Studio Setup > VST Audio System > Release Driver when Application is in Background. Enable this option, please.

It is enabled. I can still get audio from only one of the programs at a time.

Hi,

Can you change the driver type for the other application? To don’t use the ASIO driver, but MME or DirectX (or how is it named on Windows)?
