Hi,
Sometime ago I re-downloaded Dorico SE 6. I don´t hear any sound at all and last time the sound was just OK. I´ve already tried going to “device setup” and trrying switching ASIO controller or stereo output. Nothing happens.
Please help me to solve this.
Thanks
I’ve had weak audio signal in the past and have usually traced it back to my DAW module.
The signal was there but very faint.
I´ve already tried putting volume to 100 and checking the mixer, but nothing happens.
Could you describe how your sound is routed and in what operating system? For example, I use the latest MacOS and route my sound via cable to an old but very nice theater sound system by cable. I also set up an aggregate virtual sound device so that Dorico always connects properly. When I have no sound, it means that either the external sound system turned itself off after a period of time or that I have a broken cable.
If you’re using computer speakers or headphones, I would check those against some other music or sound source outside of Dorico. That help determine if it is a system problem or a Dorico interface problem.
Welcome to the forum.
For all sound problems, upload your diagnostics. There are also troubleshooting tutorials to help. (eg. For Mac… and for Windows…)
Hi Janus,
I watched the whole video. Unfortunately, nothing worked. I will attach the diagnostics.

Hi @sebaspath , at the time you created the diagnostics, you had basically an empty project loaded without any VSTinstruments loaded. Well, not 100% true, DoricoBeep was loaded which is used for the metronome sound. So if you add few empty bars and switch on the metronome and then press the play button, you should be able to hear the metronome click.
For you own players to start generating sounds, go to the Play mode and then choose from the Dorico menu the item Play > Playback Template, double click on the Auto item, Apply and Close and then wait a few seconds. After that you should have playback sound again. If not, please send a new diagnostic report.
Hi Ulf! Metronome sounds OK, but nothing else does. I’ll attach the report

Hi @sebaspath , what if you go to the Dorico menu item Play > Playback Template, are there any templates listed, especially one that is named Auto?
If there is the Auto template and if you select that and then Apply and Close, do you get sound then?
Already done that and nothing ![]()
In the Playback Template dialog towards the bottom is a button labelled Show All Factory. If you click on that, what templates do get shown there? If there is nothing more than Silence and Auto, open the Steinberg Download Assistant and install or install again the contents packages HALion Symphonic Orchestra, Iconica Sketch and Etudes Elements.
After that, does the template list got any longer? If not, please send another diagnostic report. Thanks
Hi Ulf!
Thankfully there was the HALion Sonic Selection available. I double clicked it and the issue was solved
thanks so much!
