Hi Pixies & Elves
All the sound has gone globally. Reinstalled 5.1.81 Application Installer. HALion 7.1.30, HALion Symphonic Orchestra.
Have not touched Iconica Sketch.
Any new project no sound there also.
Fiddling in Play and the MIDI controllers to no avail.
Have not saved anything
I’m stuck at the moment as I have 3 works edit engrave and print for a week Wednesday.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Boris
Hi! First thing you should do : post diagnostic files so that @Ulf can know what is going on and give you the most accurate help. Beware, it is almost 11PM in Germany…
Sound is working for other programs?
You have applied the playback template again? Play > Playback template (switch to another, Apply, then switch back again, Apply)
Hi @Boris_Stanier ,
please load a project that you think should produce sound and then do from Dorico’s menu Help > Create Diagnostics Report. The corresponding zip file please post here. From the contained logs and files I most likely will be able to tell what is wrong or missing.
Hi Ulf, Mark, Pixies & Elves
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (948.9 KB)
Here I hope is a copy of the file you want
Hi @Boris_Stanier , thanks for the data.
Your problem is that your HALion Sonic plug-in was sent to the block list by the vstscanner. The scanner does so if it detects something is wrong with a plug-in. So the plug-in is there but something is wrong with it and therefore on the blocklist.
The first thing to try is following:
Delete everything inside the folder
%appdata%\Steinberg\Dorico 5 AudioEngine_64\Dorico 5 AudioEngine VST3 Cache
After that restart Dorico and see if HALion Sonic is still blocked.
If unsure, send me a new diagnostics and I’ll take a look.
Uploading: Dorico Diagnostics.zip…
Hi Ulf Still all is quiet. I’m a little confused, as my mantra has been, no manual if it is not broke do not fiddle. Thanks
Hi @Boris_Stanier , I don’t know what happened to your new diagnostic report. There is a link but that does not lead anywhere. Could you please send it instead via mail to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de? Thanks
Ulf Hi Would it be better to Uninstall Dorico from the settings, Apps, but the number of apps are many, after reinstall them all from Download Assistant.
No, don’t reinstall, just send me that diagnostic report I asked for. Thanks
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (946.7 KB)
Hi Ulf Thank you for your time.
Hi @Boris_Stanier ,
the problem still is, that the audio engine tries to load HALion Sonic, but it is still on the block list.
Now is the time to try a reinstallation but only of HALion Sonic.
So please launch the Steinberg Download Assistant, go to the Dorioc area and there second item, click on the Install Again button for the HALion Sonic Instrument package.
Once that is done, try again with loading a project. If still a problem, please send yet another diagnostics.
Thanks for your patience
Dorico Diagnostics.zip (895.2 KB)
Hi Ulf Re installed:- Aplication Installer and HALion Sonic Instrument package, nothing.
Tried another project I had a drum kit, well, that’s something. Thanks
Hi Boris, so HALion Sonic is still on the block list, for reasons we have to find out.
Could you please invoke the vstscanner like I described here?
And I forgot to mention that in the other thread, after the vstscanner returns, also type (or copy and paste)
echo %errorlevel%
and press the return key. What number does get shown then?
Hi Ulf
I will give it a go. Can I not give Steinberg Remote Access at least Steinberg knows where to look
Boris
Ulf and the Dorico Pixies and Elves.

Thanks
Kind regards
