No Sound Using Cubase Pro 14 and Behringer Studio XL

I’m using Cubase Pro 14 with a Behringer Studio XL. When I play a track I see Track/Buss activity, but no signal is going to the Behringer Studio XL. How do I fix this? Help! Please!

Have you got the Behringer selected as your output device?

Additionaly to @JBuck inquiry above, I’m sorry, @rgturner, but your ask for help is typically an example or what shoudn’t be done, for these reasons :

  • We don’t know if you are either using a MacOS or Windows based setup.
  • We also don’t know if your device (I had to make a search to see that it’s basically a mixer instead of an audio interface) has a dedicated ASIO driver (rather important when Cubase is involved…).
  • We don’t know if such a driver is correctly installed and, if not, what have you as selected, in the Studio > Studio Setup > Audio System > ASIO Driver setting (ASIO4All ?).
  • We are desperalely in need to know how the Behringer Studio XL is connected in your setup.
  • I don’t know what the ‘Track/Buss activity’ means : what track(s) is/are actually involved and how its routing is set ? is the so-called ‘bus’ the Stereo Out one, an intermediary groupe track ? Additionaly a screenshot showing the involved source track with its track inspector and Routing section visible wouldn’t do harm…

Sorry again for what seems a rant, but giving as many details as possible from the start would have make things more easy for both you and us, without loosing time for additional details inquiries.

This said, I’m waiting for the said details asked above, before going further…

Thanks for your input. My original problem was that I couldn’t get my Lewitt Ray Microphone to work. So, I contacted Sweetwater to assist with that problem. Which was an easy fix.

Then things got interesting. Sweetwater support told me that the Black Lion Revolution 2x2 was unnecessary when using the Behringer Studio XL. This is where things started a downward spiral. He was not familiar with Cubase Pro. So, I imagine his comment was based on working with some other DAW. Which by the way, I’ve worked with other DAWs and Cubase 14 Pro is the absolute BEST for what I do!

So because of my tight schedule I’m going to return to my original hardware setup and things will be back to normal.

Again, Thanks for your input.

Also,

When cubic13 mentioned “dedicated ASIO driver” I had an Ahaa moment.

I went through this with another interface before purchasing the Black Lion Audio Revolution 2x2.

So I learned not all interfaces are created equal.

Depending on the DAW some play nicely and some don’t.
