No sound..!

I’m using a Mac with macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and a Scarlett 2i4 audio interface with Cubase pro 9.5. I’m not getting any sound. I’ve made sure that the correct audio connections settings are selected in Cubase for input/output, and that the Scarlett 2i4 is set as the default input/output device in the system. I can hear sound from other sources (like YouTube), so the issue is isolated to Cubase. I’ve tried reinstalling Cubase to default settings without resolving the issue.

I’m also wondering if the problem might be related to using the “line out” on the back of the Scarlett 2i4 while my headphones are plugged into the front. I’ve used the back output before, but I’ve been using the front output for a while now and had sound through it. How can I change this, if that’s the issue?

Most likely, it could be related to access restrictions from MacOS.
You need to enable Cubase for use of the hardware. Some settings changed with the last few updates.

I dont understand, how could this be when it has worked before without any updates? My computer is not connected to the internet :folded_hands:

I think they are talking about the mic privacy settings but this only affects input, not playback.
Confirm that you have metering appearing on the master out.
Make sure the headphone source switch on the 2i4 is set to those outs and direct monitor is not set to input.
