No valid license found. Wavelab will quit now

Hello everyone.

I’m having trouble getting my Steinberg products installed on my Mac.

I have Wavelab Pro 12 and Cubase Pro 12. Which are already installed on a Windows computer. When initially setting up the Mac I had downloaded Wavelab, and also Cubase (using Steinberg Download Manager) and installed them. However, I then ran into a problem which required a complete refresh of the Mac. I had moved all the downloaded Steinberg files to a thumb drive and am now in the process of trying to get them installed.

I’ve managed to install Wavelab ok. But when I attempt to open it I get the message ‘No valid license found. Wavelab will quit now.’

With Cubase, I tried using SDM again and clicked on ‘install again’, making sure the files are where SDM thinks they should be. But it just seems to want to re-download them all again. I have a really sketchy internet connection so this isn’t possible without going to a friend’s place, so not ideal.

Any ideas on what’s going on and how best to get my products installed?

Thank you

When you log in to your Steinberg Account, and you are able to see your products there, you can activate them with Steinberg Activation Manager

Download Assistant is not necessary if you have installers downloaded from the website.

Ahh, thank you. So I need to download SAM?

You can use any one of the two.

Thanks so much for the speedy help. I just downloaded the Activation Manager and it worked perfectly for Wavelab. Hopefully the Cubase issue will be a similar solution.

Have a great weekend.

Edit: I meant to say, the Cubase issue was likely trying to install via SDM rather than with the downloaded installer. As you pointed out, no need to use SDM. So I’ll just run the installer.

Thanks again.
