Now on 10.5 When I record I see the volume level on the main input channel but not on the channel I record to. No problem recording and after recording the volume level shows on the channel I recorded to. I have on previous versions always seen the volume level both on the main input and on the channel as soon as I hit record enable and monitor but not know. New in 10.5 or something I´ve missed to do?

You can keep using direct monitoring. You just have to enable the preference that sends the hardware meters to Cubase in DM mode.
