No VST Connect Pro license found

Is this some kind of joke. After I bought Cubase 15 PRO the other week strange things happens.

I just don´t get it. The information given by Steinberg is too confusing for me to get right.

I downloaded the program and installed what I thought were the right things since they were clearly explained and easy to understand. But this last message that stops me from even open up and work with Cubase feels so bad.

VST Connect Pro is not included with Cubase. Inside of Download assistant there is an area called MyProducts. If you install from outside that area then you’re going to get error messages that you don’t have a license when you try to use these things.

you can use VST Connect SE. the Pro version is a separate paid upgrade

VST Connect Pro is not included with Cubase Pro.

You likely installed it from the general installer instead of My Products in Steinberg Download Assistant. Cubase will then warn about a missing license when it tries to load it.

Fix is simple. Uninstall VST Connect Pro or reinstall only the components listed under My Products. Cubase itself is fine and will run normally once that extra component is removed.

Thanks guys!

Just got two questions. I thought that Cubase PRO 15 would be a piece of cake to run when I installed it after I’ve been using Cubase 12 PRO for many years now. So about the VST Connect I wonder:

  1. What is it good or needed for?

About the PRO vs SE Version I am not interested in paying for something I really do not know why I should use. So the PRO version has to wait. But the only link I found seems to download both version as one merged version.

  2. Where can I download the se version?

VST Connect SE/Pro Updates and Downloads | Steinberg

The SE version I think is inside Cubase, and the client side must download the software on their side. if I remember correctly SE is only 1 stereo track can be recorded while the pro version have full multitrack input (10 I think). The Pro has hq uncompressed transfer quality and proper encryption. The SE version cant record midi and have limited controls over the session while the pro do midi and have full control over arming and routing tracks among other things

Thanks, that cleared things out even more!

Thumbs up!
