When Cubase Pro has been booted up Nome 1 needs to be unplugged and plugged in (or powered off and powered on) for the Midi commands in Midi Remote to be controllable by the Nome 1. The midi commands will work until the next system reboot.
When Cubase Pro has been booted up and before the Nome 1 has been replugged/is temporarily without power, the following does happen in the background:
- The U-sync daemon says both the DAW and Nome 1 are connected.
- Midi Remote within Cubase Pro says that Nome 1 (Midi device) is connected.
What has been tried to resolve this issue but to no prevail:
- Completely remove every trace of the U-Sync software (including configuration files, scripts, Midi Connections, VST3 plugin).
- Fresh install of U-Sync software (using the latest firmware and software available).
- Use different USB cables.
- Use different USB ports.
On the Steinberg forums there are multiple threads that mention similair problems with other Midi remote devices where it loses its connection. Unfortunately Simon from Sim ’n Tonic could not reproduce this issue using a similair setup. This is why I am posting here as well in the hope a permanent fix can be created.
Technical information:
OS: macOS Sequoia 15.7.3
Cubase Pro 14.0.41
U-Sync 1.4
Nome 1 firmware 5.2
Thanks in advance!
