Noob needs quick help!!

I just bought the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 to use on Cubase 8. I registered it, downloaded it and all that and it comes up in Cubase. Problem is it makes no sound when I plug a guitar or mic into it. I think my problem is when I go to Device Setup then VST Audio System I can select Focusrite USB ASIO except when I click Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver it says error: not detected…

I have it activated in my sound control and everything. Anyone know how to fix this??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A thought…
Do you have the Scarlett plugged into a USB3 port? Have you tried a different USB port?

Hi Zlatan11,

It might be worth checking in Control panel/Device manager/Sound video and game controllers and see if your driver is listed there or if there is a yellow warning sign!

If there is a warning sign pick up the latest driver here for your product http://beta.focusrite.com/ and install it.

You didn’t mention whether you have the new second generation or first generation product so make sure you download the correct driver for your product!

I hope this helps?

Kind regards

What was the issue? interested, as it happens to me as well, I just got used to working with the ASIO usb driver…

not really sure to be honest. i think it was more of me having to figure out the focusrite iteslf than actually cubase. There’s so much i dont know about cubase, id love to take a class or have someone show me the ins and outs of the program
