Noob question: Master output clips with Ozone 11

Hellow again,
I’ve setup an instance of Ozone 11 on the Master Bus but the Stereo out is clipping. I’m assuming because the stereo output is doubled up in the control room?
Still getting my head around the Control Room so not sure what’s going on. I’ll keep searching but was wondering if there’s a quick fix for it? I’m sure I’m missing something supa obvious. Thanks <3

Click the Outputs tab and make sure no outputs are assigned there.

Thanks Wheels,
What do you mean disable the Outputs tab? Wouldn’t I need those?
I disabled the control room but still Ozone Maximizer doesn’t prevent from clipping which is the most puzzling thing. Maximizer should be a limiter to my knowledge?

Does the master bus also clip if you enable the True Peak option in the maximizer? There might be inter-sample peaks that exceed the set -0.1 dB ceiling.

It does clip indeed.
But I never experienced any clipping with Ozone in the Master Bus in my 15 years of Logic so it must be something Nuendo related? I’m using a BabyFace Pro FS so also not sure if it’s causing these peaks? These are my audio connections: should be oki?

The audio connection looks fine so far. Since the clipping happens inside Nuendo, the audio interface shouldn’t be the issue here.
Are there any additional effects present after the maximizer? Maybe some built-in ones from the channel strip? Did you put the maximizer in a post-fader slot?

Dit you insert Ozone pre fader?

no additional effects on O11. It’s just the General Clarity preset with a Maximizer at the end of the chain.
Not sure about the pre-fader thing: can you take a lil screenshot to show me where that is?

Could you post a screenshot of the channel settings window of the master bus? It’s the window that opens when clicking on the “e”-Button:
grafik

All inserts above the green line are applied pre-fader, those below are post-fader. You should put the maximizer in a post-fader slot to ensure that it’s the last module in the audio processing chain.
If it’s currently in a pre-fader slot, are there any modules activated in the channel strip or filters applied in the equalizer tab?

you didn’t activate the “true peak” (right to the output level value) option in the Maximizer.

I thought that as well but @coro wrote above that it clips anyway.

If it were a limiter, wouldn’t they call it limiter instead? It’s no limiter.

You can read about inter sample peaks in mastering.

Thank you all for your insights: Ozone was set in the Pre Fader

I’ve been using Ozone since 3 and the Maximixer always did prevent from clipping  But I have to say that I never bumped into any issue since I work in game audio and I mix-master with plenty of headroom. But thanks for sharing this, You’ll never stop learning

btw, is there a way to “disable” Pre-Fader slots in the mixer channels by default?

TBH, if you insert a limiter pre fader it makes no difference to post fader if the fader is still at 0.
It is the same level at all.
