Not able to record anything UR44C/Cubase 14

Hey guys

I have recently held the first recording in a while and noticed that my UR44C drops the input signal when recording to Cubase 14 Pro.

On vocals, it drops sustained notes - cuts longer speech, when I tried recording guitars - it only recorded noise.

When recorded with built-in audio and on Reaper everything is fine, my drivers is up to date. Also, tried different buffer rate, disabling Asio guard - nothing helped, only made it worse - now everything gots recorded is a cracking noise. But Audio Performance Monitor didnt show anything

Please help - currently UR44C/Cubase 14 is completly useless

I am on Macbook M1 Max, MacOS Sequoia, 15.7.4 Cubase 14 Pro,

Try uninstalling the drivers for the UR44C interface and install this option which is the new software from Yamaha since they took over production of the URC line.

I did that yesterday and it didn’t help

@Martin.Jirsak do you have idea how tackle this problem? This is a total blocker; it turned my entire long day session with an artist into junk - at that stage I cannot work at all

Have you considered rolling back the firmware on the UR44C, and then reinstalling the latest version.

Do I need to downgrade/remove the Tools for URC first or just run the Firmware updater you shared?

I believe just run the firmware then update in the URC mixer

Support team found the solution

MacOS Sequoia has system-wide noise reduction that is optimised for FaceTime, but in music programmes it recognises long sounds as ‘background noise’ and cuts them off.

  • Open Cubase and activate a track for recording (monitor or record arm).

  • Click on the orange microphone icon in the macOS menu bar at the top right.

  • Change the mode from ‘Voice Isolation’ to ‘Standard’.
