Why the check box next to the slider in the Lower Zone “has trill line”? Why two controls?

This toggle behavior has been discussed ad infinitum. The toggle overrides the current setting, and the check box sets the new value.

It reinforces the idea that everything in Dorico is done on a “Macro” (defaults) and “Micro” level (overrides) - to do anything, you need to either override the default behaviour (small infrequent changes) or change the defaults (big sweeping changes).
Admittedly there are some times when it’s not terribly convenient, but I respect the model v much
