Hi! I’m trying to figure out how to notate the piano pedal gradually going from fully depressed to fully released, then suddenly going back to being fully depressed. Here’s an excerpt from my score to help illustrate:
On the downbeat of measure 9, I have the pedal set to being fully depressed (which Dorico calls “Change Pedal Level: 1”). On the downbeat of measure 10 (where the arrow is pointing) I have the pedal set to being a quarter depressed (“Change Pedal Level: 1/4”), which is causing the gradual lifting of the pedal in measure 9, but I also want the pedal to go back to being depressed on that same downbeat. Any ideas? When I try to set the downbeat of measure 10 as fully depressed, it removes the gradual lift of the pedal in measure 9. When I add an invisible rest after the downbeat and have the pedal fully depress on that rest, it looks strange because of the clear separation between the downbeat and the depressed pedal mark.
Thank you for any help!
