I’ve recently started using Dorico on my iPad and I am loving it so far. While testing out the features though I’ve run into the issue that the notation options menu won’t open. I’ve restarted and reinstalled the application but nothing seems to work.

I don’t use the iPad app, but I understand there are different versions. The basic (free) version I don’t think has notation options, whereas the paid subscription version does. Which version are you running?
I am running the free version which explains the problem. I didn’t think of that possibility as for any other premium feature a pop up appears. Thank you for your help!
Christoph, do you really mean “Notation Options” as in the English User Interface? Or are you talking about „Notations Optionen“ as in the German Interface? That would be “Engraving Options”… it is a bit confusing.
[edit] Engraving Options don’t exist on the iPad version anyway, so it is the Notation Options you get, when you pay for the iPad version (as Janus pointed out correctly).
