Note duration across bar line

Is there a way to make the last note of upper voice to look like a single quarter note even though it violates the bar duration for that voice. See image. I’m guessing the answer is no.

Make a 2:1 tuplet of 8th-notes that contains a single quarter-note, and hide the tuplet bracket and number.

The example might not be exactly what you want, but it shows the basic idea.

Thanks Rob.

TBH, since it’s 12/8 and they aren’t triplets, your up-stemmed voice with the quarter notes should really be dotted quarters. If you make that change then it solve the problem anyway. Technically, if you make the second tied notes quarters, it’s mathematically incorrect.

Technically correct or not, I’m just trying to duplicate the source. Rob’s suggestion plus remove rests does the job.
