Note expression input devices - new developments?

I was wondering if there are any new developments in “note expression input devices”.

The first video in this link (hands entering a 3d space) seems very promising but I see no sign of it controlling MIDI.

I always feel the difference between real and MIDI instruments, and feel is critical. Is there anything out there?

Oh yeah, people did midi with it right from when it came out. I tried it… personally I couldn’t get into it, though it might be worth another try.

How/if it interfaces with note expression or MPE will depend on the software implementation, I suppose.
