Note input – tessitura

Hi,
I do almost all my note input via computer keyboard (rather than MIDI).
Is there any way for Dorico to recognise the tessitura of instruments during note input?
In the video I’ve uploaded here, Dorico suggests a low B for a cello, for example, which I have to move up the octave. (I know I could have copied the piano LH – just wanted to provide an illustration.)
(Also, I’d find it helpful if the orange caret showed the current selected note value, rather than simply an upstem or downstream note, as I don’t always have the notes panel in view)
Thanks all!

You can influence the register of notes and specify whether you want the named note in a higher or lower octave. By default, Dorico selects the octave the smallest interval away from the previously input note.
