As a long-time Finale user, I am used to being able to set note names below the notes using the TGTools plugin.
The format of the names can also be set (font, size, distance from the system, distance between chord tones).
I have seen that it is also possible to display note names in Dorico. Unfortunately, these are only possible in the note heads.
In my opinion, this makes no sense, as you have to enlarge the notes extremely so that the names can be read.
I have no idea about programming at this level. Nevertheless, I would like to ask you whether such an option as in Finale could be implemented in Dorico. As far as I can see, notes with note names in the note heads are not a note font but a feature in the program. Would it be conceivable, for example, to expand the note name option to include the option of creating the names either in or under the note heads (below the note system)?
As a music teacher and arranger, I absolutely need such an option. In general, I like Dorico more and more, and I can imagine switching from Finale to Dorico very soon if this option for note names were available.
I would really appreciate it if there was an option in this direction.
