I use a piano keyboard to input notes.
If I want the note Gb displayed rather than F# I click on the b key first in the Dorico side panel and then input the note from the keyboard. Dorico insists on displaying an F# regardless. Only way to fix it is to go the respell menu or click alt = which is an extra unnecessary click.
Dorico doesn’t pay any attention to the accidental chosen in the notes panel when you’re using MIDI input, instead using the default note spelling it thinks it should use. This default spelling is currently pretty rudimentary, but we have been working on much better default spelling, which will be included in the next update and which I discussed in the most recent development diary update.
