Try not to trip as you dash to your computer to download the latest version of NotePerformer…
Thanks. Downloading now.
The biggest difference seems to be that it pre-loads selected samples from the VST libraries into its own libraries to give better control.
I’ll report back on how it sounds in an hour or two…
WOW!
Is it Christmas already?
Or six or ten hours… But that sounds sooooo promising! Routing allowed, empty tracks deletable!
Paid upgrade?
The pre-loads have turned on the fans in my MacBook - for only the second time ever! But it looks like it’s about 30-40 mins to pre-load BBCSO core on my M3 max machine, so pretty quick.
Edit: hmm, that was the forecast from the installer - the pre-load time now seems to be going up!
Final edit: just under 40 minutes.
No, never so far.
Jesper
free! And NPPE engines are now free too.
No, still free for everybody who already owns a NP license
Wonderful. People made a big deal of the fact that I asked the same thing of Dorico 6 and explained that a major version increment is always a paid update. So, a different policy altogether. How nice.
That policy from NotePerformer is known, they have made it clear at numerous times. Of course, it could have changed. I think I would have paid an extra fee for this.
I would want to pay for this. I don’t want Wallander to go broke - I use his library more than any other when doing early mockups. 20% of the purchase price would be entirely reasonable.
But I don’t understand much about the preloads because it’s giving me a lot of errors. How do I have to do it?
If you own the associated library, simply select it and click the preload button on the next page. This is a one-time operation that takes a little time to complete.
I will arm myself with patience to see what happens
By the way, I would gladly pay a contribution for Wallander.
I’m struggling with the new multi output feature. It has correctly assigned all the instruments to separate channels in Dorico but the Playback is only showing on the first channel…
Thanks as always for the update, Arne!
You didn’t yet assign the audio outputs. That’s the bottom row in the NP mixer interface (the MIDI channel).
There’s also a shortcut to assign to audio outputs 1-16 from the new Settings menu in the top-left corner of NP.
Blimey, that was quick.
Thanks for that - it works perfectly. Even in my creaky old iMac.
Hi Arne - glad you’re here. I’ve just submitted a problem report through your website, but as you’re here, I thought it might help other people if I post the problem.
I’ve pre-loaded BBCSO and Spitfire solo strings OK.
But when I try to pre-load Hollywood Choirs I get, for each voice:
Articulation Long
Preload aborted
Slience on Bus 2 (Close)
I’ve upgraded to the latest verion of Opus 1.5.7, and I’ve tested that Hollywood choirs work fine in a standalone copy of Opus.
Many thanks
Rich
