I am trying to nudge the end or start of a midi event either to the left or right but either doesn’t work when the midi event is selected. What does work is to move the whole event to the left or right. I played around with various settings but to no success.
Any help is appreciated.
Hi,
Could you be more specific, please? Are you talking about the Key Editor in the window or in the Lower Zone? Are you talking about the Nudge controls or the Key Commands? What Key Commands do you have assigned? What exactly happens if you do it?
I happens in the Key editor in the lower zone.
When I have a MIDI event selected (as shown in the picture) and press the “Nudge Start Left” button (button shown in the picture) then the start of the MIDI event does not get nudged. It does not get larger (by 1/64 as shown in the picture). Tried 1/32, 1/16, or 1/8 and those do not work.
When I use a Key Command I can see visually that the button is pressed (via the key command) but again the size of the midi event does not change (neither start or end of the MIDI event cannot be changed).
However the “Move Left” or “Move Right” arrows (shown in the picture) do work and move the whole MIDI event to the left or right by the specificed amount (1/32, 1/16, or 1/8 whatever is choosen).
Does that make sense? I don’t have the assigned key commands handy right now but if you want I can provide those later.
Are you on Mac?
Which keys are assigned to the functions that don’t work?
Do the functions work when you assign other keys?
Hello, I have the same problem. I work on Mac. The problem has also occurred in Cubase 13. It would be really great if this could be fixed quickly:
The nudge function doesn’t work for me at all, no matter which event and no matter which kicker function. When I use the keyboard shortcut, I can see the kicker buttons blinking, but the event doesn’t move at all. Is there a workaround for this? Thank you
Same questions apply…
Hey Johnny,
at the moment I use the standard keyboard command CMD+right or left arrow. Another key assignment doesn’t help.
And I would like to make it even more precise: It’s actually about events. (they are not locked) When I’m in the Key Editor, the kicker for midi notes works. But the midi file itself or an audio file cannot be moved.
Thank you
Hi,
From this, I guess, you are not talking about the Events, but you are talking about the MIDI Parts (in the Project window), right?
The MIDI Notes are MIDI Events, same as MIDI CCs are MIDI Events.
MIDI File is not present in Cubase at all. You can import a MIDI File to Cubase.
Again… I guess, you are talking about a MIDI Parts and Audio Events and Parts.
Ensure, the focus is in the Project window (arranger area), please. Could you make a video screen recording, please?
