Nuendo 12: Adding new ARA-based software extensions?

Waves just released Sync VX, a ARA-based auto-alignment tool. It works as ARA extension only.

I must be missing an important step, as Sync VX is seen as plug-in (… telling me that it’s meant to be used with ARA when I open it), but not as an ARA extension. Only Melodyne and Spectral Layers appear in the list. Please help.

Windows 11, Nuendo 12

Dietz,

ARA is not supported by Steinberg, only ARA2.
Or I must be terribly mistaking …

Fredo

Sync VX works fine in C13/14 not sure about 12.

Please check the installation. Are other Waves plugins showing up? Do all the Waveshells exist in your VST3 plug-ins folder?

Also, You can hide it in the VST plug-in list so you don’t mistakenly open it there.

Nuendo 12 won’t automatically see these extensions with how it scans them but there is a workaround. Go to “C:\Program Files\Common Files\ARA” (if that doesn’t exist then create that folder) and copy “WaveShell1-VST3 15.4_x64.vst3” from “C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3” into that ARA folder. Nuendo 12 should now see it. You can do this with other ARA extensions that Nuendo 12 won’t see like VocAlign Pro etc.

A reminder that these ARA plugins are accessed via extensions and not as an insert plugin.

Thanks a bunch! This did the trick. :champagne: :fireworks:

… may I ask you where you got that info from? It’s neither in the manual nor elsewhere in the forum, AFAICS.

Directly from the developers of Sync Vx when I was beta testing it. It’s an unsupported workaround so it won’t be in a manual. I needed it to work on N12 as I’m no fan of the direction N13 has taken.
