Nuendo 13.0.20 Can't see if a plugin is VST 3 in the list anymore

Now when selecting plugins I don’t get the III next to vet 3 plugins when opening the plugin list.

Geez, what the hell is going in at Steinberg?
For me it’s very odd that things seem so unstable in updates. A thousand fixed bugs, and then new broken things. Now we get to choose which bugs to live with…
In my opinion they need to up their QC game.

Hi,

This is a known issue. Thank you.

Hi Martin,

Till this issue is resolved, could you advise whether the “second” listing of a particular plugin - say, two results pop up when you search and the bottom one - is the VST3 one? Or are we just resigned to guessing for now?

not excusing the bug, but is there a particular reason why you need both versions installed?

Hi,

If you have VST2 and VST3 version of the same plug-in installed, Cubase would show the newer and better VST3 version only.

Sure, but some vendors don’t allow any customisation of the install (eg UAD); the other option to to weed though it all and delete where appropriate.

Agreed, certainly some wierd things going on in C13 & N13. Some of this I suspect is to do with Apple Sonoma compatibility (a big of a dog in itself)

Unfortunately this is not true. All Plugins just show up.

I must add that they show up, when you search for it.

Simply work out how to delete them through the File System.

Fact is, it will make re-scanning preferences much faster if you don’t have the VST2 versions installed…
