Nuendo 13.0.40 crashing when changing workspaces

Nuendo crashes hard and quits randomly when changing workspaces. I’m on a Mac Mini M1 with UAD Volt interface. Doesn’t happen when I go back to 13.0.30. Anyone else?

Never mind, I deleted preferences and started over and everything is well so far.

I’ve detected crashes when I close a project. I can open a project opening N13.0.40 for first time, then I work in it and I close the project. Frequently N13 shuts down, or if not, crashes when I open another project.

Back to N13.0.30 and crashes don’t happen in same conditions.

Hi,

Could you please attach the *.ips file(s)? There is already a known area, where is Cubase/Nuendo 13.0.40 crashing. One of the is while Quit, other occurrence is while opening/closing the MixConsole. Your might be the same crash, just different occurrence.

You’re right, it was happening when opening the mixer as well. Where do i find *.ips files on Mac?

Looking forward to this 3D to develop as changing workspaces crashes Cubase 13.0.40 as well. :slight_smile:

Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).

I’ve had a number of times where everything “seems” fine until I come back the next day to work and it shows me it had crashed on exit. I will have a deeper look as the dmp file and see if anything shows the culprit. I’m on Windows 11 latest.

I can confirm on windows 10 that selecting F3 (MixerConsole) (2 to 3 times) will crash the mixer in N13.0.40 on an empty project. It did not occur in 13.0.30.

EDIT:
Reviewed Martin J’s post on the Cubase forum and this work around solves my crashing. I can use this work around until a patch is released for this issue:

We have found the core of the crash. Cubase crashes, if there is Meter Bridge enabled, the Wave-view is enabled on the Meter Bridge and you close the MixConsole.

As a workaround (for now), disable the Meter Bridge, or switch the view of the Meter Bridge to PPM, please.

I switched to PPM.

Same here,

Nuendo seems to always crash when quitting from the Hub. Not if i hit quit from an opened session.

I’m on Windows 10.
