Nuendo 13 - Performance, Feedback

I have been using 13.0.51, until recently when the .55 update was released however I was noticing improved performance from past weeks whereby the unloading of projects does not trigger a crash and closes efficiently (project unloader), as when compared to earlier versions, of the said product cycle.

This is very promising, for users of older systems so cheers for the latest update to N13, and I am hopeful for an even more reliable experience until the N14 trial!

To add:

I often need to use ASIO Guard at maximum, with max buffer size due to the low power of my system, and as well, quite large channel count both from and to my audio interface, so while the drivers I use (MOTU) are known to be very low latency, I just leave it on maximum settings since I am not recording anything other than MIDI data, which only triggers a hardware module during record.

Lately, I have found that I have not needed to use ASIO Guard as much, however and while I still do, the system now performs even better than under V12.

I’m currently experiencing the same thing - but I don’t know whether it’s due to .55 or a simultaneous windows update. Steinberg will never tell anyway…
After all these years nuendo 12/13 is now closing again as it should - just before it ends  .
But since then I have this message several times a day (mostly when starting N13) and i have to restart the PC to get it working again:

Sometimes, it is actually more important that a project closes, quickly rather than opening fast, since I can wait around for a project to load while doing other things, but waiting for a project to unload, it is rather painful, when all you want to do is load a different file, and you know that loading a project is, in general, a foregone conclusion but as for unloading projects, you get tempted to just crash your application, but then again, no…

… thank you, Steinberg, for the wonderful Project Unloader!

Another thing I have noticed with Nuendo 13, is the fact that I can now save while the project is playing, which is something I have not been able to do since Nuendo 11.

This is utterly fantastic for me, since it means that the audio doesn’t stop, stutter, or stammer and nor do I otherwise experience the system crashing as a result, so very good work here and thank you once again. I can now move forward on a supported platform (Windows 10), until at least October of this year.
