It is known that the power scheme must be high performance. Sometimes, for long hours tasks with little work for the disks, I use a scheme that turns off the disks. This in N12 resulted in slowness and a pause, when the disks were needed and had to boot. In N13 it results in a system crash. I think, but I’m not sure, that it also happens even some of the times when autosave kicks in. Being an irresponsible Sherlock Holmes, I am suspicious of the new usb hot plug feature. With the higher power scheme, the instabilities go down tremendously although they don’t disappear. For my little brain, these events enter a dark zone, closer to the phantasmagoric and inexplicable than to a rational and technical event… sorry Watson.
