Nuendo 14.0.32 always crashes while opening a N 14.0.31 project

I sent the Log to Steinberg, but it is a complete show stopper, because I cannot even open the project; I tried opening a previous version of the same project, because I save a new version every few hours, and Nuendo cannot opened the project, and I was staring at the Desktop for a few minutes.
This is not good because I have work to do, and I I have a dead line coming up.

I reinstalled Nuendo 14.0.32 and
Spectralayers 11.0.70 - and the crashes remain.

Hi,

Attach the latest *.dmp file (with Spectralayers 11.0.70 version), please.

FYI, your account email address is disclosed on that image. If that concerns you, you may want to edit that image (or just delete it).

Thank you Thor; I did not know that that info could harm me.

OK Martin:

Uploading: Nuendo 14.0.32 64bit2025.6.23 2.40.58.591.dmp…

Where do I find the Spectralayers 11 file you requested?
Or is this the file?

Here is my temporary work around:
I created a new project, and imported the tracks from an older version of the crashing project. Problem was, when I also imported the Tempo master track ,
all hell broke loose, and tracks were all out of sync, Musical Mode or not.

Now I go back to work…

Hi,

Sorry, the file has not been uploaded correctly. Could you try again, please?

This is the file.

I admit I have an older system (Mac Pro 5.1 /Catalina) but Nuendo 14.0.32 installed and started working like a charm until I tried to change a plugin in an older project - Nuendo crashed immediately and from that point I couldn’t open anything. Please advise.

Hi,

First of all, I recommend making a new thread. It seems it’s unrelated to the original post.

I would try to start Nuendo without 3rd party plug-ins or even to remove the whole preferences folder, to get the factory settings.

Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64

Where the X is the Cubase version (for example, 14).

Also crashing here. Mac M2 Ultra on latest OS. Nuendo 14.0.32 freezes about 2 minutes after loading up. I have to Force Quit it every time. It freezes every single time.
There doesn’t appear to be a solution so I’m going to attempt to uninstall it and install the previous version (14.0.30)

Thank you for your kind reply. Yeah, I’m not really experienced how to open a new thread here, however, the crash reoccurred after I deleted the Preferences files for Nuendo 14… I’m trying to open a separate thread on the bug though. Thanks again.
