a new maintenance update is available for Nuendo - 14.0.40. This time it’s a tandem release with Cubase 14.0.40, meaning the same issues have been addressed in both applications since it concerns general sequencer technology.
The Nuendo 14.0.40 update is available free of cost via the Steinberg Download Assistant. Due to a technical issue today, the update will also be available in the Support section soon.

Thank you for the hard work of the team to release this update!
Still I don’t see any improvement of Dialogue Transcription. which made Nuendo to crash on my computer, while I was trialing it.
Here is the problem:
and another user with the very same issue:
Both reports left unanswered by the team.
I have purchased a crossgrade from Cubase 14 Pro to Nuendo 14 but I’m going to activate it when Nuendo 15 is being released.
My trial expired and I don’t know what’s the status of the issue I have experienced?!
Since it’s not mentioned as fixed, I suppose it’s still there.
Please, take a look at it! I hope it could be fixed.
I experienced spiking when I upgraded to 14.0.4 in Cubase Pro, but when I rolled back to 14.0.32 it resolved and didn’t change any of my preferences or presets. Windows 11 latest update on my rig with a Nvidia GPU running my monitors.
I updated to Nuendo 14.0.40 yesterday, but a serious bug immediately caused concern and needs to be fixed urgently. In Nuendo 14.0.40 on Mac (OS Sequoia), when opening an existing Dolby Atmos session created in version 14.0.32, all connections—both beds and objects—with the Dolby Atmos Renderer do not work properly and must be reconnected manually. Furthermore, after reconnecting, in the Nuendo Renderer the objects are displayed incorrectly—some playing objects appear as not playing. If the “fixed” session is saved and reopened, everything must be set up again, because the settings related to Dolby Atmos routing are not preserved, and the connections between the session channels and the Renderer do not function correctly. Please, fix this ASAP.
Also, where can I find a downgrade to the previous version 14.0.32?
Just wondering, what is broken about it? I ask because I recently used it for a simple project and it worked fine. I had audio that I was pitch shifting, sometimes time stretching, and normalizing. It did what it was supposed to do.
I don’t generally make use of it though so it isn’t something I have a lot of experience with.
Thanks for the update. Because again, the Steinberg Hub doesn’t work on my system…
(As usual after any 1st SW update…)
But I still don’t have an answer to 4th order Ambisonics. Was it fixed in an earlier update? Still not working? I currently can’t update the system as I’m running several tests and the system must stay as it is for comparison (even with bugs …)
Thats annoying, but cannot replicate here on my system using the 14.0.40 update, same performance as 14.0.32 (no spiking) alhough I am not using a dedicated graphics card (internal intel UHD 770). Also same performance as previous Nuendo versions using my maxed out Cubase 11.0.41 test project. Have you tried resetting ASIO guard to off/closing Nuendo and changing ASIO card latency settings to biggest. Open Cubase/Close then reset your performance settings to what you usually have. Worth trying just to rule out any stuck Nuendo Settings……..
Getting a serious crash in 14.0.40 opening existing Dolby Atmos 14.0.32 Nuendo project (Nuendo internal Renderer not Dolby external). Never ever had this before! : crash exit error is related to VCRUNTIME140.Dll
Not good, going back to 14.0.32!
EDIT: REINSTALLED 14.0.32 no errors or crash.
Please relay to team that a fix for 10.0.40 with a HOTFIX is required as soon as possible is this is not at all good.
Can confirm, something is definately up with the handling of Atmos. I am not usually working with the Atmos renderer but I did the following crude test:
Create empty project
Open Audio Connections and create a 7.1.4 Config (if you have not done so yet) - set it to Main Output
Load the Atmos Renderer into the Main Out Insert Slot
Open ADM Authoring and create 3 Beds
Create three audio layers/instruments - make it make sound
Assign these to the beds in the ADM Authoring panel
Save Project and Re-Open
You will notice no sound or like in my case just audio in the left channel. Re-creating the beds in the ADM panel and re-assigning will fix that.
I tried exporting an audio file but it is silent - but that could be due to my primitive knowledge
I’m wondering how I could get another trial period for Nuendo 14?
By the way, it was listed that the trial is 60 days, but when I took mine, it gave me only 30 days to trial…
I would like to test about the Dialogue Transcription crash, that I have reported earlier in this thread.
I have purchased N14 crossgrade, but I prefer to activate it when N15 is out.
