Anyone here realize an issue of MIDI Remote? I mapped my Maschine MK3 Carefully and It worked for years, just since the latest update, the control was reset to nothing. I tried to map it again a few days ago, but today I lost it again.
Not using 14.0.40 here but you could try changing the Midi Port Setup (studio setup) to Direct Music to something else and back etc, see of it fires up (your template is there, just not connected). Anything else on your system that could be taking the driver? Apart from that, don’t know, I don’t trust this maintenance release.
Yep had the same issue with my midi remote controllers as well - all gone after updating. It was then i realized mappings are not being saved within the midiremote script but in documents → steinberg → Nuendo → midi remote → user settings folder. This is where mappings set to ‘global’ are being saved, so copy those files for backup
…what’s even worse: Since the update if you have your midi device turned off or not connected it loads the script with empty assignments and overwriting these files again with empty mappings. So you would have to copy those backup files into the folder again and again and again - if you start Nuendo without your midi device.
Even after the recent UAD Console software version fix (which killed all MIDI-based peripherals on my Windows 11-based system, such as my Console 1 Fader Mk III and AKAI LPK25 keyboard controller), I noticed I STILL had issues in the newly-updated Nuendo 14.0.40 with it’s MIDI Remote settings regarding Console 1. I rolled back to 14.0.32 and it’s all working fine now. That was one hell of a week figuring all that out!
Really, it‘s not fixed in Cubase 15? That‘s a shame. I think I should go back to 14.0.32. Render in Place is also not doing what it should (knack on the beginning or some background noises). Steinberg, please fix it fasr as possible.
Some people said it’s working fine on Cubase 15 — for some right away, and for others only after deleting the surface and recreating the script. In my case, the script carried over fine when updating from 14.0.40 (after I recreated it), but after restarting my Mac a couple of times, it just disappeared again.
Other than that, I’m really liking the Cubase 15 update. It feels snappy, the GUI looks great, and the improvements to expression maps and automation are a nice step up. Not perfect, but great improvements.
I’m mostly mixing these days, so that’s one of the things I really wanted to see improved. Hopefully they’ll iron out some of the long-standing bugs, but overall I’m really happy with this update — except for the remote script part.
same here… lost mappings only for the midi unit that was not powered on during update. Between this and the ATMOS bed issue, I went back to 14.0.32. I’ll wait for Nuendo 15. Hopefully, these issues will be resolved.
