Score editor redo is something I’ve been hoping to see since Dorico started. Very excited.

Anyone know historically the gap between these two releases?

The gap between Cubase 13 and Nuendo 13 was mere two weeks.

Can’t wait. The new features are exactly what I was looking for.

I was thinking of downloading the c14 trial you get 30 days

Is anyone else bummed that just made the upgrade from 12 to 13 and now 14 is on the horizon? I guess the upgrade is the same no matter what considering the price it would be to jump from 12 to 14?

I built a macro to add all selected tracks to a folder and add a new group channel within that folder and assign all the tracks in the folder to that group channel., all with one key keystroke… Is that what you mean?

Unfortunately, I need folders in the mixer so that when I collapse a folder the channels inside collapse with it, I do actually use Avid S1 hardware as well , the problem with the current system is you close to the folders in the arrange window but your mixer is still show all tracks. My workaround currently is to use the visibility agent to show certain selected tracks or truck types or track names.

There’s nowhere around it. We need a folder in the mixer as an option, which will sum audio.

I get that it can be annoying to not have the visibility follow.

What I’ve done is make good use of the layout function in Eucontrol, with several different layouts dedicated to what type of task I’m executing. For me, mainly TV post editing and mixing, that works well enough. I can zip through different places and use banking as well.

Hopefully a workaround could come if Steinberg manages to implement VCA spill in the Eucon specification. If they do then you could simply create VCAs for the various sets of tracks you need to control and spill from the VCA.

Just make a macro that first selects all audio files in the selected folder and then hides them. Then instead of collapsing a folder with the + button. Just select it and hit your key command for your new macro to hide all the audio files. And it leaves the group chahnnel there in the mixer (AND the project window) for your summing control.

I agree there are some great ways to work with Group VCA and also mixing in Eucon , I have some killer visibility agent set up with Metagrid … but still I would like a simple Suming Folder as a option . I was so hoping for it this time around .

Understood. I can actually see the use of it now, after thinking about it for a few weeks or months (I’m slow in the head).

We can always hope it comes to Nuendo anyway with it being added to Cubase in an update.

When using hardware faders a simply way to keep arrange track / folder and mix window in sync is plus . Sometime just simple works

Then all the complex and clever ways to custom your set up just give the user the power to create how they prefer…
