I’m experiencing what appears to be a compatibility issue between a project template created in Nuendo13 and Nuendo 15.
On group tracks that use inserts from my Nuendo 13 template, the plugins appear greyed out immediately. I cannot power them on, open their interface, remove them, or otherwise access the insert slot.
However, if I create a brand-new project in Nuendo 15, create fresh group tracks, and copy the same channel settings from the version 13 session template into those tracks, the plugins function normally.
I’ve already restarted Nuendo and Windows and verified the VST plug-in blacklist is empty. The problem seems isolated to group tracks originating from the legacy template. Could you please advise whether this is a known issue and if there is a recommended migration process or diagnostic steps?
Have you tried simply exporting a track archive from your old template and importing that into the new template? Either that or importing the tracks from the old template to new.
YES, that is what i was trying to say with — “…create fresh group tracks, and copy the same channel settings from the version 13 session template into those tracks, the plugins function normally.”
That was the first thing I tried… it appears to be an inconsistency between versions - the session template in question from Nuendo 13 has been around for many years and was created in an even earlier version on Nuendo, so I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this…
The session format changed with v14 (and then a final update for v13 was released to accommodate this change). No way to backwards save unfortunately either. If you’re going to stick with a later version then be aware that sessions created in this new format will no longer open on older versions which don’t support the new format.
