I’m troubleshooting a problem where Nuendo 15 keeps creating a file named VSTScannerMaster.log on my D: drive, rescanning plugins at some undetermined point, various timing. The block list is empty, and Nuendo runs normally after launching without issues, but if I open Studio > VST Plug-in Manager and click the VST2 power button, Nuendo becomes unresponsive and must be killed via Task Manager.
I can’t view the VST2 plug-in paths or determine which VST2 folder Nuendo is scanning. My VST3 plugins are in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. I don’t have a C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2 folder or a Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins folder.
Any idea why the scanner log is being written to my D drive occasionally, and is there a way to identify the plug-in or folder causing the lock-up without opening the VST2 manager?
