Nuendo 6 performance - compared to Nuendo 4.3

Hello, there!

I’ve been trying Nuendo 6.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.8.0.

I opened a session I had created on N4.3(because I wanted to have video on Mac OSX), but performance couldn’t be worse. VST meter going crazy and totally “Unplayable”!

I was wondering if this is because the original session had been created in Nuendo 4.3 and there are compatibility issues or if Nuendo 6 has become such a heavy application.

I wouldn’t know if VST meters scales are the same, but N6 appears to be strainning CPU twice as hard!

Sure. I was just trying to figure out how to do it permanently in this profile here…

But here it goes:

MAC OSX 10.8.0
3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
12GB 1067MHz RAM - DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB

I’ve come from 4.3 to 6.0.3 on osx and there were various reasons why I had some performance issues…

  1. Mountain Lion… some plugins were not updated properly for MT.
  2. I suggest updating to at least 10.8.2 on MT
  3. N6 is a whole new beast… and some older plugs were not performing efficiently on N6

Once I updated my "go-to’ plugins and opened old sessions, performance was at the least comparable.

However, I have to sat N4.3 was great!
