Something like the Steinberg Library Manager?
I feel there is a logic error in here somewhere.
Does, it uninstall, plug-inās and associated files?
Plugins have their dedicated un-installer.
I must have misunderstood your use of the word ācontentā.
Much of what you write is difficult for me to understand, actually.
I meant Steinberg plug-inās, and content.
Ahā¦..
I was buried in that chaos (20 years ago or so?) when we were flipping back and forth between Nuendo and Cubase as the updates were staggered between them.
Then finally, they basically said if you arenāt doing video editing, use Cubase.
I must admit coming from being a music producer first then to film re-recording mixer/sound designer and now using Nuendo more exclusively I do think the 2 benefits of also having a cubase license for someone like myself comes down to two things:
-
being able to get my hands on the new music related features at the same time of Cubase owners
-
having the ability to manage a separate Mediabay!! That could be more music focused and less extensive on sfx stuff. -we have a huge SFX library running through mediabay, as suprisingly for us its still superfast searching versus every third party products we tried and being in the box is handy. However it does seem to introduce a heavy load on internal presets within Nuendo- which at times can take minutes to load presets and media libraries. To be honest its actually a huge deterrent when working music stuff. So wanted to bring that up to see if anyone is experiencing the same issue. And because of this I think steinberg should either rework the way internal media and presets work or maybe be open to allow Nuendo users to use Cubase with their existing license. We can dream at leasts..
Sorry for reasking, am no native english speaker.
Just want to be on the safe side.
I have Cubase 14 Pro and bought now Nuendo 14 to the reduced price of ā¬499,50.
Is it really correct, that I could have performed a Cubase 14 Pro to Nuendo 14 crossgrade for only ā¬224,50 and that I would not loose my Cubase 14 Pro license by that?
I was told that after crossgrading from Cubase to Nuendo your Cubase License is lost,
so that you can only use Nuendo. Is this not the case anymore?
Along with my Nuendo Purchase for ā¬499,50 I got a 50% discount on SpectraLayers 12 Pro which costs normally ā¬349, so it costed me ā¬174,5.
So I spend for Nuendo 14 and SpectraLayers Pro 12 ā¬499,50 + ā¬174,50 = ā¬674.
The alternative would have been - given that I do not loose my Cubase License -
to buy the Cubase to Nuendo crossgrade and the full price for SpectraLayers:
⬠224,50 + ā¬349 = ā¬573,50.
So it seems to me, that I payed now sadly ā¬674 - ā¬573,50 = ā¬100,50 more than needed.
How is the handling of Cubase 14 Pro and Nuendo after doing the crossgrade?
Is it both a normal āonline licenseā?
One posting sounded as if I might need the eLicenser for Cubase 14 Pro only to be able to run it in parallel with Nuendo 14?
Sorry if this is a redundant posting. Maybe I have to call Steinberg in Germany by phone about that.
Many thanks for any help.
To answer/contribute to the topic: it might be interesting to be able to export audio with sample rates up to 384 kHz if you are interested in high-res audio content or are such a content creator. I regard this as useless, but it is surely a market.
Other differences I got from a website where you can compare the product features.
Like the included content, Iād love to have an easy way to remove all of the presets for included plug-inās
Yes, thatās correct.
No, thatās not the way it is anymore. I have recently learned that this was the case at one point but not in recent years.
About your situation: I would contact Steinberg support and explain your situation. Of course, itās up to them, but usually they handle these things in a very friendly manner.
Steinberg was really helpful, top team! Cross-grade rocks.
I can confirm, that its possible to use Cubase and Nuendo after a cross-grade.
You even get the 50% discount on SpectraLayers Pro with the cross-grade.
