Odd Trill Playback

I’m a Finale convert trying to learn Dorico. I’m copying a score into the program in an attempt to figure the ins and outs.

I have a couple of measures that contain a whole note followed by two grace notes leading into the next measure. The whole note is trilled and everything looks fine. But during the playback instead of the whole note being trilled I’m hearing 4 quarter notes, each one trilled, in this pattern D-D#-D-D# on each beat. This happens in the following measure as well, same rhythm pattern but up a step. All other trills in the piece play fine it’s just these two with the grace notes. My suspicion is an issue with the grace notes themselves. If they are removed then the playback is fine. Thanks.

The grace notes should be input with the grace note tool on the next note, and then use their properties to go before the barline. Is that how you’ve inputted them?

For completeness, what are the pitches of the whole note and grace notes, and what’s the key signature? And are you sure the grace notes are in the correct rhythmic position?

I think that is how I did it. I’m sorry, I’m still getting used to Dorico and I remember I had to look up how to input grace notes. I believe what I finally did was enter the whole note, move to the next measure, wrote the grace notes, and then moved them to the correct position using the properties tab.

I’m sorry I’m not at my computer with Dorico at the moment. The whole note pitch is D, the trill is altered natural. I can not remember the grace notes at the moment. Sorry.

Ok, then perfect. Well, thing is it usually plays back perfectly, so you might want to post your project here (you can use the silence playback template in order to make it lightweight ) so that we can try and investigate it!

Not sure what the silence playback template is.
