Old audio is there but won't playback

Hello

I have recently upgrade to Cubase 8 artist from Cubase 4 studio.
When I open a song made in Cubase 4 studio into Cubase 8 artist, everything seems to be working fine, but the audio cannot be heard.
If I open the “sample editor” and click on “audition” I can hear the audiosample just fine (without effects ofc).

I am baffled.

Could you doble-check (and describe) your VST Connections, please? Are the Outputs of your tracks routed to the bus, which is connected to the wanted physical outout port of your soundcard?
