Who can help me out please with the following:
I have old Cubase 3.0 score files with compositions I made at the time. I would like to be able to re-open them somehow. Can anybody tell me how to do that?
Thanks a lot,
Joris VDH
What version of Cubase are you using now ?
Not that it matters as I think the oldest version you can import files from is Cubase VST5/32, and then it involves using SX3 first.
Hello Paul,
Thanks for your reply. I am using Cubase 6 Version 6.0.0.229 at the moment. What do you mean with ‘using SX3’ first?
Joris
Because you can’t import old Cubase5/32 files into a current version of Cubase, you have to first import those files into SX3, then you would use a current version of Cubase to import those SX3 files into your current Cubase.
Convoluted but that’s the way it is
Maybe you can import your old Cubase 3.0 files into VST5/32 then import those into SX3 ?
You can still get older versions of Cubase, including VST3-5 if you go to :
I don’t know why Steinberg just doesn’t include an ‘importer’ of sorts into all versions of Cubase. I’d think that would be a valuable feature. But at least they do provide the means to get songs imported.
