Omnisphere in Dorico

I would like to route eight staves to one instance of Omnisphere multi. Each Dorico staves into different parts of Omnisphere multi. Can someone help me on this issue?

Hello,

I don’t have Omnisphere, but guess it works here like in Halion and other multichannel VST Instruments:

in Play mode → VST and Midi, select Omnisphere multi for each instrument, and in Play mode → Track Inspector, set the midi channel for each instrument to the corresponding midi channel in Omnisphere.

It is quite simple in theory… (though I’ve found it a challenge to get decent expression maps working, so my results have been crude).

Hi Janus and Bob, Thank you very much. I tried this also first but couldn’t get through anything. Now it solved nice way. Thanks

I tested the suggested methods (thank you @bobmusic and @Janus!), and it works great. (I made a CC7 dynamics expression map, and set the pan on CC10 directly into the key editor lane). A Playback Template with the saved Endpoint Configuration also loads nicely. Here my first scary attempt to use it :ghost: :

Yes. Works nice way :).

Sure. I attach the Dorico Project, and the Playback Template in a zip file.

omnisphere cello.zip (646.1 KB)

Workflow:
I just created the three cellos, then applied the silent playback to start fresh, created the CC7 Expression Map, loaded Omnisphere on the VST and MIDI panel, assigned the 3 sounds in a Multi (just clicked the Multi button and chose the there sounds from there), then back to Dorico assigned Omnisphere to the three cellos tracks from the Track Inspector, assigned the CC7 EM, made sure that the tracks are on three different channels (that correspond to the O. Multi), then edited and saved the Endpoint Configuration, and created a new Playback Template manually loading this EC.

I noticed that the slider in the Multi, were assigned automatically to different Host ID (right clicking on the sliders). Maybe I was lucky  ?.
You can check this. Because the CC7 needs probably different Host ID, besides different MIDI channels (not sure if this can be the reason of your issue?..):

Thank you for noticing the things that I miss. I’m a complete novice using Omnisphere (and synths in general) but am fascinated by their sonic possibilities in conjunction with notation.

(apologies for deleting the earlier post)

Glad to help, @Janus
I am not an expert at all in Omnisphere, but it is a great piece of Software. Also I don’t remember if the sliders of multis are assigned to CC7 per default or if I let Omn. learn the CC using it from Cubase…

Ops, I hope it is ok if I leave my answer?

Yes! Sooo much sounds that open incredible possibilities.
