how??
In theory, pasting all your lyrics on the first text field should spread all the words through the available melody.
in theory? so you dont know what you are saying?
Anyway, that is not step entry.

Section 3.3.2. Batch Lyric Input - States that it’s possible to do Batch Lyric Input
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Let me quote the manual here:
3.3.2. Batch Lyric Input
Select the first note of the group you want to assign lyrics to, and enter the full lyrics in the “Text” field.
Press Enter to automatically assign the corresponding phonetic symbols to each note in order.Example 1. Example of batch input in English
For example, if you enter “What a fine day” in the text field of the first note in the melody and press
Enter, the phonetic symbols [w ah t], [ah], [f ay n], [d ey] will be assigned to each of 4 notes in order.
But this doesn’t work for me. ![]()
Hi,
What do you see in the text, if you select the 2nd MIDI Note (A3), please?
Btw, are you on Mac or Windows?
Click the first note..and type sway. All the words will be added to the following notes.
I’ve been playing around today, seems to work (mostly) logical. I need to test more with multi syllable words.
Ok in that case No. You can only enter from the (too small) text entry box.
as far as I could test you need a note per syllable if not I get weird results.
Hi,
Are you on Mac or Windows? It doesn’t work on my side on Mac.
What doesn’t work?
Windows 11 I can type in a stream of words / lyrics and they get spread across the notes .. starting from the note I have selected. Actually I am quite impressed.
Hi,
On my side, the very same text is applied to all selected MIDI Notes. All of then are singing just the very 1st syllable.
Martin.Jirsak,
I am on Windows 11 - I followed the directions - just choose the first note, type in all the lyrics for the phrase and then press Enter.
Also just found Specs from website - Omnivocal Beta - YAMAHA MUSIC CONNECT|Be one with music. - About Us - Yamaha Corporation
cheers,

It works on my PC (Win 11) - just select the first note and type in the whole sentence there ![]()
I’m on a Mac and I’m seeing the same thing as Martin, it doesn’t work for me.
Hi,
Thank you for confirming. I will test on Windows later. I reported it to Steinberg already, so if I find it’s Mac only, I will update the report.
Thank you all for the help!
Hello All, there is a clear and simple manual - https://www.yamaha.com/en/about/business/music-connect/omnivocal/pdf/omnivocal_beta_user_manual_en.pdf
A small nuance that I discovered: the ‘text’ field wasn’t showing in my list of options with my default sizing, etc and after I right-clicked on the whole bar, I was able to edit the fields that would be displayed, bringing the ‘text’ field closer to the left and into the working area.
I have my CapsLock key reprogrammed to act as a mouse click. Im my case it is a feature of the programmable keyboard I use, but you can do this on Mac with ‘a better touch tool’ or on Windows via PowerTools or the registry I believe.
However, it is very convenient because then you can use the capslock mouse key and the right arrow key to select the next note and enter to accept the lyrics you typed.
Hope this helps
