Hello, I try to use the computer keyboard to play midi notes, all keystrokes works but not R, instead of sending the F note it triggers the record

Is your system language set to English? Is your Cubase set to English? Are you on Mac or Windows?
If you have reassigned R as record in your key commands this is what will happen.
Record command will overrule the onscreen keyboard as it’s such a critical function.
You’ll have to set record to something else if you want to use it this way.

Yes I manually assigned R to record, I shouldn’t ?
Up to you….but that’s what will stop R key working in the onscreen keyboard.
I had it for so long now that I forgot it wasn’t a native shortcut
According to the manual “R” IS the default key command for record…
I have never used the onscreen keyboard so I am not of much help here any further than that.
EDIT: Quick forum search - changing the R as key command is probably the best idea like @Grim suggested. There are other threads in this forum reporting the same issue.
