I have a voice/piano piece I’m trying to use to learn Dorico. (New from Finale here.) In the attached example, the second bar F, F, Fb, Fb are coming out in playback as twice as loud as all other voices in the piano. I’ve tried to do voice specific dynamics, but that doesn’t seem to be working. I saw a thread about using option-return when inputting a dynamic, but nothing different happens from just regular return and the whole bar section is the same dynamic. Any particular reason one voice would come out over all the others?
Hi @boomerhead, difficult to diagnose the culprit without having the Project.
Can you upload a Dorico file? Best to cut it down to the place that has the issue.
Here more infos on how to do it (#4).
But you can try to deactivate some options in Playback Options/Dynamics in particular the ones under Humanize and Polyphonic Instruments
Thanks! Disabling the Pitch Contour option took care of it completely. Now the whole thing is more even.
As a side-note: is it OK to load up files here that may contain copyrighted music? I do not sell/distribute the music I put into the files–but use them as accompaniments on my Yamaha Clavinova piano when teaching. Don’t want to get anyone (myself included) in trouble.
I will let the admins answer that.
