Ongoing Automation issues for to long

Issue:

Cannot use the info line or mouse wheel to adjust values of nodes as they just keep snapping either back to the point that i originally recorded on the automation or they snap to the maximum value.

Also:

it works on some third party effects like Soundtoys Echoboy (feedback) and Arturia Rev Plate 140 (width), but NOT on ValhallaRoom (pre-delay) and i’m guessing other plugins, but i aint got time to try all the diagnostics.

It does not work on any third party instrument that i use/own use below

DUNE 3

Omnisphere 2

Spire,

Vital

VPS Avenger.

Hi Guys

Just looking for an update on the issue of this obvious problem between vst2 and vst3 regarding automation with third party instruments (vst2 fine vst3 not fine). The issue is really annoying, as I love using quite a few different third party plugins and I could be working a ton faster (if they where working properly with automation) in my workflow.

Now i know that this is not just my problem, but also a lot of third party plugins Alien to Cubase.

So this problem, me and many others are having, can be resolved because cubase stock plugins work fine with cubase, yet Steinberg did invent the vst, Strange that!

John.

I just checked quickly with Vital and did not encounter any problems editing automation points in the Info Line and with the mouse wheel. Cubase 15.

Hi Johnny_Moneto

Which parameter did you use, and can you try it with Cubase 14 14.0.41

John

I checked the level of Osc1 and the step duration setting of LFO1.
I also checked with a Valhalla plugin. I remember the Valhallas not working well in Cubase when it comes to value editing. But now in C15 there was only one minor nuisance, it generally worked ok.
Maybe Steinberg improved something in this area with C15.

Please forgive me for not installing C14. But you can install the C15 demo.

Thanks for the info Johnny_Moneto. I’m waiting on a couple other replies on different forums, but if i can help it i’d rather not go to CB15 just yet.

Thanks again.

Regarding Omnisphere, “Enable Host Automation” must be activated on the controls you wish to automate. Otherwise use midi learn and an external midi controller. Both methods have their uses.
