Online Help

There is a login window in the new manual website, but my password manager says I do not have any account with “steinberg.help”. When I try to log in using “My Steinberg”, this new website says the credentials are invalid. Does anyone know what this login is for? Thanks

Well, who among us doesn’t just love setting up multiple accounts for the same company? I’m sorry but this is ridiculous.

Hi, Lillie. The new webhelp page need further optimisation in typeset and layout. For example the old one currently still shows a clearer structure in the following case:

Also Roboto (font used in the old page) is more suitable for main text quick reading than Working Sans.

Same on Cubase Pro 13 here…

I’ll try if there’s a new version as well

I just tried and I can’t see anything while I saw the Dorico manual (but I have no Dorico, unfortunately)

You’ve set a filter for “PDF”, which is why no webhelp options are appearing for you.

At the top of the left sidebar, click the X for “PDF” to remove the PDF filter.

I can not enter. Invalid password.

See this earlier post from Christina:

Thank you for your work.

Just a small thing:
Everywhere else the order of the Dorico editions is Pro, Elements, SE, but in the new Help section it’s Elements, Pro, SE. It’s the alphabetical order, but it is a little bit distracting, if your are used to the other order.

Hey Lillie,
I noticed a small type for midi devices. The proper command in the first screenshot should be Ctrl/Cmd+,
This may be elsewhere in the manual as well.
Cheers
Peter

Various software developers, including Apple, use hyphens in keyboard shortcuts. See Mac keyboard shortcuts – Apple Support (UK) for instance.

I would be very surprised if this changed in the Dorico documentation.

Oh, I see what you mean pianoleo. I am not too familiar with Dorico and couldn’t get it to work, I thought it meant Ctrl - ,
So type Control while press - at the same time (which is zoom).
Then I looked around in the menu of Dorico under edit, and that says Ctrl+,
So I thought “hey, typo”.

No, it’s Ctrl and comma.

This is something that can’t really be controlled for: Apple’s style in menus seems to be - and Microsoft’s seems to be +

There’s only one manual; you just need to know that the printed plus or minus between two other keys means that all of the keys either side of the (printed) plus or minus need to be pressed.

Since they are already using the keytop formatting, I think it would be clearer to write it as Ctrl/⌘, … no punctuation needed.

I am - I get a 404 error from the Help . Dorico Help > English menu .
I am based in Leicester UK

Please try again today – it seems to be working OK for me.

I still get an infinite loading… if I go to the official help https://archive.steinberg.help/ and press the product family Dorico. Same for some other product…

I Just tested opening Dorico from the Archive on a Samsung S9 Tablet and Chrome as well as Firefox go into an endless Loop.
