As a guitarist, I often use Neural DSPs or Genome amp sims and would like to be able to open my amp simulation VST directly from the audio track icons, without having to dig through the track inspector and its list of VST inserts.
It works this way for MIDI instruments, after all.
It would simply be a matter of designating the first VST in the insert chain so it can be opened via a track control button—just like the channel strip, pan, or volume controls.
We would just need the option to add this icon to the set available for audio tracks. I think this would be just as handy for other types of audio tracks, too.
